Davies Hood PLLC helps small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals with legal issues.  We want to help you realize your mission and make it happen.  We limit the assignments and relationships we undertake so we can concentrate on your issues.  One focus we have is to provide outsourced, in-house counsel services.  Small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and entrepreneurs face the same legal challenges of larger organizations, but can't always afford a full-time lawyer on their staff.  We can fill that need on a regular basis to meet your needs.

Davies Hood PLLC was formed in 2018 by Jason Hood to provide legal services to select, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals.  A primary focus of the firm is to provide legal counsel to organizations that face the same legal issues as larger entities who have dedicated, in-house counsel on their staff.  We tailor our representation to your needs and budget.        

Our Goal

Our goal is to help people and organizations by providing practical, legal advice, and counsel in an efficient and cost effective manner.  We learn about your needs and develop a program that supports your objectives.  For small businesses and nonprofit organizations, we can provide outsourced, in-house counsel services on a schedule and budget, and in coordination with your other advisers, that supports your objectives.

Jason P. Hood
Attorney and Counselor

Jason Hood began his career in strategic planning and human resources development for a multi-national, specialty chemical company.  His early business experience grounds him in the practical issues facing organizations.  Jason helps clients balance the legal risks and challenges they face in running their operations.  He began his legal career in private practice with a large law firm as a litigator before embarking on a 20 year career as in-house, general counsel and senior executive of several global companies.  Jason has worked with private equity backed companies as well as public companies.  He has experience with corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, legal and risk management, compliance, corporate real estate, aviation, and has served as a chief legal officer and chief administrative officer.  He has advised boards of directors, audit committees, and senior executives.  Jason has served on nonprofit boards as a director and audit committee member.  He has extensive experience in leading organizations in public, private, and nonprofit settings.  Jason is a Tennessee Rule 31 Listed General Civil Mediator.  Jason maintains a separate consulting practice.  He is passionate about Scouts and enjoys woodworking.  Jason is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and Arkansas.  He is a member of several bar associations and other professional associations such as the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), formerly known as the American Society for Personnel Management (ASPA).  Click here for his profile on LinkedIn.    ​

Elizabeth D. Hood
​Of Counsel

Betsy Hood serves of counsel to the firm.  She recently worked as an operations director for a nonprofit foundation.  Betsy is extremely focused and uses her skills to organize people and organizations to get things done.  She has experience in nonprofit operations, association management, government, community organizations, and business.  Her training as a lawyer helps her identify key issues and work to resolve them.  Betsy is licensed to practice law in Tennessee.  She is interested in elder law and mediation.  Betsy graduated from Duke University (B.A.) and the University of Tennessee College of Law (J.D.).  She roots for Duke Basketball, Tennessee Football, and, of course, the Memphis Grizzlies.
